Palwal is a city and a municipal council and is 21st district of Haryana in the Indian of Haryana. The addition of the city to the districts of Haryana has been a significant achievement for which the citizens of the city were thriving and thus shows the result of hardship of people's efforts. It is situated at a distance of 60 km from Delhi on the Delhi-Mathura highway.
It is a place of great antiquity, supposed to figure in the earliest Aryan traditions under the name of Apelava, part of the Pandava kingdom of Indraprastha, which was later restored by Vikramaditya.
It is the site of a Hindu temple called "Panchvati" which is a great symbol of the religion.
Palwal became 21st district of Haryana on 15th Aug 2008. On 15 August, 2008, on the occasion of 61st independence day of India, the district was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state, Sh. Bhupender Singh Hooda.
